Hello
everybody
We have not been in touch for some time, but we are looking back at a
few busy months: while Joe has finished an amazing new recording
(read more further below), his website’s redesign has finally been
completed and a brand new

to start the new decade.
We are aiming to update you more regularly again from now on. The
new year
is shaping up to become another exciting one for Joe and his
various band projects. Stay tuned for more information on tour

New album:
“For The Love Of You”
Elegance, lyricism and soul are the sublime
qualities at play in this magical new release. For the first time
since Storytelling in 2002, Joe includes vocals as a primary part of
the mix. Forging a style that seems to be made of equal parts Nat
King Cole and Donny Hathaway, singer Kenny Washington weaves his
unique spell around a diverse repertoire.
The album features a stunning all-star cast with Geoffrey Keezer (piano), George Mraz (bass)
and Clarence Penn (drums).
“For The Love Of You” (E1 Music) will be on general release from
January 26, 2010.

New website:
Joe Locke 3.0 is here!
After almost four years we have finally decided to make a
decent site even
better. The completely redesigned
joelocke.com allows for more
multi media to be streamed, more generous visuals to be displayed,
and extra interactivity to be integrated. The more spacious layout
can now incorporate additional features such as sound samples, a
video gallery and more intuitive navigation - all very much to
reflect Joe’s busy schedule and various projects. We also wanted to respond to
those many ideas and requests that have been sent to us by Joe's
web-savvy fans. Thanks for all the input!
Like every active website, this is a work in progress. And even now that we have
launched, there’s still a lot being done in the background. So
come and visit frequently and feel free to let us know what you think.

Best of the Year / Best of the Decade
Two of Joe's recordings have made the DownBeat
"Best CDs of the 2000s" listing in the magazine's January issue: "Beauty
Burning" (Sirocco, 2000), "4 Walls of Freedom"
(Sirocco, 2003). Also included is Tim Garland's "Storms/Nocturnes"
(featuring Joe Locke and Geoffrey Keezer - Sirocco, 2002).
The 2009 release "Mutual
Admiration Society 2" (with David Hazeltine, feat.
Billy Drummond and Essiet Essiet - SharpNine, 2009) has received
wide spread critical acclaim and has been voted into many "Best of 2009"
album lists and polls.
