2008 plans and happenings

The new year is already shaping up with international tour commitments for both established, as well as new band projects.

This summer will see Joe returning to North Germany to follow another invitation to play JazzBaltica in Salzau, near Kiel. This time he will be bringing his Quartet, including Jonathan Kreisberg (guitar), Joe LaBarbera (drums) and Jay Anderson (bass), with whom he recently recorded the successful JazzEyes release "Sticks and Strings" (available in Joe Locke's online shop).

There are further European appearances planned for this summer, when Joe will be on the road with a new project, "Joe Locke Force of Four". Stay tuned for dates and locations.

By the way, you can already catch "Force of Four" later this month at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY on January 19.

David Finck's "Future Day"

Last year Joe was happy to accept an invitation by bassist David Finck to support him on his new album which is now being released on Sound Brush Records. "[...] This is an album where the musicianship, excellent charts and a superb cast of players combine to make this disc one of the finest new releases of the year. An impressive debut for bassist David Finck and his quartet. [...]" (Edward Blanco, eJazz News)
